Lily Rosqueta-Rosales is a professor of Counselor Education and Dean of the College of Education at the University of the Philippines. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in education and her Master's degree from the University of the Philippines. She earned her doctorate of education in Professional Counseling and Psychotherapy from the University of Northern Colorado.
Lily has worked at the University of the Philippines as senior guidance counselor and officer-in-charge of the Counseling and Testing Center, and Office of Student Affairs. She has also been the area coordinator for guidance at the Department of Professional Education, officer-in-charge of the guidance laboratory, and Chairman of the Department of Counselor Education.
She has served the Counseling profession in numerous capacities as President of the Philippine Guidance and Personnel Association, Philippines Chapter of the American Association for Counseling and Development, as well as the first overseas President of the Iota Phi Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota. She is Vice-President for the Far East of the International Academy of Professional Counseling, Psychotherapy, and Behavioral Medicine.
She has written numerous publications including the book, Counseling in Perspective: Theory, Process and Skills. She has also authored several professional articles which have been published in national and international journals, and wrote counseling typescripts for the Counseling Manual and The National College Entrance Examination Manual. She has also edited the following publications: Guidance Journal, Philippine Guidance News Digest, Education Newsletter, Philippine Association of University Women Newsletter, and Manual on Psychological Test Instruments.
Lily has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards including the University of the Philippines Diamond-Jubilee-San Miguel Corporation Professorial Chair in Counselor Education, University of the Philippines Portfolio Professorial Chair in Education Psychology, Distinguished International Alumni Award from the University of Northern Colorado, Model College Teacher Award from the Metrobank Foundation, Service Award and President Emeritus from the Philippine Guidance and Personnel Association, and the Thomas J. Sweeney Award from Chi Sigma Iota. There is also the Lily Rosqueta-Rosales Counselor Leadership Award established in her honor by Iota Phi, the first overseas chapter of Chi Sigma Iota.
She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, reading, writing, traveling, listening to music, and Philippine wild flowers.
